Welcome To Destination Dairies Blogs

Hey everyone, this is Komal, the explorer who started this blog. My initial solo trip started my desire for travel when I came to discover that seeing new places isn’t just about taking in the sights; it’s more about gaining knowledge about yourself.

Since then, I’ve traveled through vibrant cities, serene mountains, and golden beaches in search of new experiences, flavors, and cultures.

I started this blog to tell you regarding the places I’ve traveled, including the highlights, the difficulties, and the little details that add character to each place. Honest travel advice, money-saving ideas, undiscovered hidden gems, and personal experiences to motivate your next journey can all be found here.

MUST VISIT DESTINATIONS

SANTORINI(GREECE)

Rising majestically from the deep blue waters of the Aegean Sea, Santorini is a truly incredible creation of time and nature. As sunlight dances above the ancient volcanic cliffs, it catches the bright whites and blues of the island’s picturesque hillside villages. Every step you take brings history to life: explore the beautifully preserved Akrotiri ruins, immerse yourself in the vibrant caldera atmosphere, and take in Oia’s magnificent sunsets, which have long mesmerized poets. The scent of wild thyme, the flavor of crisp local wine, and the view of endless horizons combine to create memories that are as timeless as the island itself, making every day in Santorini feel like an adventure through legends and beauty.

🌸 My First Solo Trip Experience and What I Learned

Before departing, I did what people who travel do best: research! I followed blogs and online vlogs to arrange everything, including my hostel stay and the nearby restaurants I was interested in visiting.

Instead of being rushed, I went out and made sure that my timetable was flexible. From watching the sunrise by the Ganga River to taking a stroll by way of the neighbourhood marketplace in the evening, I wanted to relish every moment.

The most satisfying aspect of planning a trip on your own is figuring out how independent you are. Every choice you make is your own

The First Day Alone

It was overwhelming and serene when I arrived in Rishikesh. Simply me, my backpack, as well as my fascination—no known faces, no one to rely on.

I must have felt a little anxious at first because I wasn’t sure who I would talk to. What would happen if I was to become lost? However, as the day wore on, I began to relish my freedom. I made friends with tourists from all over India, exchanged tales with locals, and discovered happiness in the little things, like going to a yoga class at dawn or dining at a café by the river.

Every second felt fresh, pure, and exquisitely unique to me.

What I Learned About Myself

I learned a lot more from this solo trip than I anticipated. I discovered that:

I can manage things by myself.

I can enjoy life without company.

Sometimes the best discoveries come from getting lost.

Travelling alone is about more than just seeing new places; it’s about learning about yourself. It teaches you to love yourself, be independent, and be patient.

I discovered how serene it was to simply be—without hurrying, without interruptions, just me and what I was thinking—one evening while sitting by the Ganga and watching the sunset.

The People and the Culture

Making connections with the locals was one of the most lovely aspects of my trip. They told lots of stories and were friendly and warm. Everybody contributed something unique to my journey, from the shopkeeper who suggested local cuisine to the café owner who informed me about Rishikesh’s spiritual energy.

I participated in an evening of Ganga Aarti, which left me speechless, and sampled regional cuisine such as Aloo Puri and Lassi. My solo trip was made unforgettable by these little moments.

My First Solo Trip to Ladakh – Finding Freedom in the Mountains

More than just a journey, my first solo trip to Ladakh marked a sea change in my life. I had always wanted to go to the mountains, but it was exciting and scary to do it by myself. I knew I had made the right decision when I finally reached Leh, surrounded by majestic peaks, fluttering prayer flags, and the clear Himalayan air. Every day offered something new, whether it was the captivating blue waters of Pangong Lake or the golden sunset at Shanti Stupa. I was able to travel at my own speed, think quietly, and savor each little moment when I was by myself. I learned in Ladakh that being free is about finding yourself in the world, not about running away from it.
